Alford is a veteran of the armed forces of America where he served his country for more than 36 years on active duty. He was appointed as the 14th Sergeant Major of the United States Marine Corps on 30 June 1999. His career culminated in his appoiintment as the first senior noncommissioned officer for Allied Command Operations to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (NATO).


Alford is the founder and President of 4-DREW, LLC. Providing leadership and mentor counseling for schools and children to have a better understanding for the need to pursue excellence in all endeavors of life.


Alford is a managing director of Pinnacle Five, LLC--a consulting company focused on providing advisory services to businesses and organizations typically associated with Veteran issues and /or the Department of Defense.


He is a public speaker, whose primary focus is leadership development, management, coaching and positive citizenship. In 2008 Alford became a published author with his book title Leasership Achieving Life-Changing Success from within.


Alford serves on the Board of Directors with PlayWorks, playworks is the only non-profit organization in the country providing trained full-time coaches focused on recess to hundreds of low-income schools in major urban areas. Playworks also provide training and technical assistance to school districts and youth organizations that want to ensure that every kid play-safely, inclusively and with joy.


He serves as a member of the advisory board for Thanks USA a

non-partisam,charitable effort to mobilize American of all ages to thank the men and women of the United States armed forces by providing college, technical and vocational school needs based o scholarships for children and spouses of active-duty military personnel.


Alford serves on the Board of Directors with the Call of Duty Endowment, who identifies and funds the most efficient and effective organizations that get unemployed veterans back to work.


He is serve on the Operation VetsHaven board, endeavors to provide assistance to our nation’s veterans with Post Traumatic Stress and with Traumatic Brain Injury
